Port of Grimsby

The Port of Grimsby is located just seven miles from the open sea and is on the South Bank of the River Humber. In addition to the strong links it maintains with the fishing industry, Grimsby offers far more including –

  • The UK’s major car import terminal handling more than 500,000 imported vehicles each year
  • An established centre of excellence for operations and maintenance activities for Round 1, 2 and 3 wind farms in the North Sea.
  • The modern fish market is one of the most important in Europe and handles 20,000 tonnes of fresh fish a year and frozen fish is discharged at the Royal Dock
  • Handles a variety of agribulk products including grain exports and fertiliser imports
  • Over 100,000 tonnes of cement shipped each year
  • Handles general cargoes including timber, minerals, ores, non-ferrous metals, iron and steel
  • Excellent repair and maintenance facilities and services for vessels up to 800 tonnes
